Hey Cruisers! My name is Lizzie McCullough, and I am absolutely ecstatic to be your head coach! I am currently finishing up my second year at UVA studying math and playing club water polo. This will be my 16th summer at the Colonies…14 years as a Colonies swimmer and now my 5th year as a coach! In my free time I love to be active, swim, play water polo, visit national parks, and be with family and friends! I am SO excited to be back this summer, and I can’t wait for an amazing season at the best place with the best people! Go Cruisers!!

SWIM LESSONS with Lizzie

I'm Coach Lucy and I am stoked to be on the Colonies team this summer! I have been swimming since I was 5 years old and I have been a coach for the past 4 years. All four of my siblings and I did summer and high school swim team, and despite being gifted the shortest wingspan in the family, I was one of the more enthusiastic ones about it. My favorite stroke is butterfly, but don't let that scare any of you! I am from Arizona and have my bachelor's degree from Arizona State University in Dietetics. (Go Devils!) Something I have always wanted to do is go to the Olympics in person. Some of my favorite things (besides being in the pool) are baking, riding my bike, and maple bacon donuts. I'm excited to be on deck with all of you and see what great things we can accomplish together. We're going to have a great season!

Hi Cruisers! Coach Carly here! This is my fourth season coaching here at the Colonies! I grew up swimming on summer league and competitive club teams! I am currently a Junior at James Madison University studying Communication Sciences & Disorders where I swim on the club swim team and work as a lifeguard. I also volunteer at an elementary after school program. Outside of school and work, I love to try new restaurants and spend time outside with my friends. I am so excited to be back for another summer and I cannot wait to have so much fun at the pool!

I'm a junior at Godwin high school and I enjoy swimming, playing soccer, and golf. I’ve been a swimmer at the colonies for almost 10 years and have been in love with the team ever since I joined. I love the incredible team spirit and watching swimmers swim to the best of their abilities.

Hi! I am Annie Carlson, and I am excited to be on the coaching staff for the 2026 Colonies Cruisers season! I have been swimming for Colonies since I was 5 years old, and I have also been swimming at Nova since I was 6. I have fallen in love with the sport and I can't wait to help swimmers build confidence in and out of the water. Additionally I am a rising senior at Deep Run High School and an active member in multiple clubs! I can't wait to meet everyone, and I'm excited to see what this season brings us. Go Cruisers!

Hi, my name is Emma Cunningham and I’m a rising senior at Deep Run High School. I started summer swim when I was a kindergarten at Hanover country club and then two years at Wyndham. I’ve been swimming competitively at NOVA for eight years as well as lifeguarding for two. I’m excited to be a junior coach at the colonies this year and looking forward to meeting everyone and being a part of the team!
