Hello Colonies Swim Team!

I hope everyone has had a great start to their week.  It is so exciting that practices are beginning this upcoming Monday!  All of the coaches are looking forward to kicking off the season and meeting you.  We hope you are all as excited as we are!  

We have a couple fun events coming up this weekend, the first being our New Parent Meeting from 2:30-3:00pm on Sunday, May 16th.  This will take place in the CSTC Parking lot.  I look forward to meeting all of our new team families!  Directly following the New Parent Meeting will be Meet the Coaches from 3-5pm in the Colonies Parking Lot.  For those of you who were with us last season, you may remember that we did this drive-thru style.  We're doing the same thing this year!  Families are welcome to drive up or walk up, whatever you are most comfortable with, and meet the coaches from a safe distance.  Recommended arrival times for families to help prevent backups are listed below by the first letter of your last name.  If you are unable to make it at your recommended time, you are more than welcome to come at whichever is convenient to you!:

• A-C: 3:00pm - 3:15pm
• D-F: 3:15pm - 3:30pm
• G-I:  3:30pm - 3:45pm
• J-L:  3:45pm - 4:00pm
• M-O: 4:00pm - 4:15pm
• P-R:  4:15pm - 4:30pm
• S-V:  4:30pm - 4:45pm
• W-Z: 4:45pm - 5:00pm

For our swimmers - we'd love for you to bring to Meet the Coaches a paper plate with your picture and name on it, and decorate it with things that you like!  You can put whatever you would like on it, we just want to get to know you a bit before the season starts.  This is completely optional, just a fun activity to do!  If you are unable to make it Sunday and would still like to make one, bring it to practice next week.  We'd love to see it!  Some ideas of what to put on your plate:

• Age, grade
• Favorite stroke or thing about swim team
• Favorite food
• Favorite animal
• Hobbies
• Favorite thing to do over the summer (hopefully swim team! :) )

My hope is to hang them up somewhere on the pool deck so the whole team can get to know each other!

Looking further into next week, we will hold swimmer assessments for those swimmers who have not previously swam for the Colonies, on any other team, and are under the age of 8 on Wednesday, May 19th from 6:00pm - 6:30pm.  If you have a child over the age of 8 and are unsure of their ability to swim the length of the pool, please contact me directly.
