Champs Results and Sportsmanship Award
Good evening, Cruisers!
This past weekend we had 38 swimmers participate in the GRAL champs meet at SwimRVA. The Colonies finished in 12th place (out of 28 teams!) with a total of 361.5 points. Congratulations to all of our Champs swimmers on a great meet! The pdf with meet results is attached to this email.
And some exciting team news...
The Len Everett Sportsmanship Award was established in 1984 by GRAL to honor the memory of a man who was instrumental in founding and structuring the League. Leonard Everett, from Hungary Creek Recreation Association, stood for the highest ideals of fair competition and good sportsmanship. A plaque is awarded every year to one club in each division whose swimmers, coaches, and parents have best exhibited these qualities. We are excited to announce that The Colonies was given this award for Division 1!
Congratulations to everyone on another great season! Wishing you all the best with the rest of your summer and the coming school year.
Go Cruisers!
Julia
