Swim-A-Thon Recap!

Thank you to all the swimmers who came out for the Swim-A-Thon last Friday-Saturday! Our team swam a total of 3021 laps in 24 hours! Thank you as well to all the parents who counted laps, especially overnight! And a special thanks to our coaches who sacrificed sleep to give our 13 and ups an unforgettable 24-hour experience!

Get your Swim-A-Thon Donations submitted by Sunday, July 5th! Here is the link to the Comfort Zone Camp (GZC) Giving Site. If you prefer venmo, you can continue donating @Shannon-K-Lewis (last 4 is 8001) and please include name & age of swimmer in the payment comment.

Our team goal is $3000, and we are currently at less than $1000! We need everyone’s help to meet our goal! It’s so easy to donate to such a great organization that helps so many people! Simply click on the CZC Giving Site and donate today! There’s still time to donate!

The age group with the most donations by July 5th gets to pick what they do at practice on July 6th! So far, the amounts are as follows:
15+          $225

13-14       $547.78

11-12        $35

9-10          $46.54

8 & under  $61.54

Thank you to all the swimmers who paid their Swim-A-Thon registration fees. Those fees will go directly to CZC. If you haven’t paid the registration fee, please do so ASAP.

Here is a note from CZC:

Dear Colonies Cruisers,

I am incredibly grateful that your team has chosen to hold your Swim-a-Thon in support of Comfort Zone Camp for a third year in a row.

Comfort Zone Camp was founded in Richmond, Virginia, in 1998 with the mission of helping grieving children and their families. To date, we have served more than 27,000 children by providing our camps free of charge to every family who needs them.

My connection to Comfort Zone is deeply personal. I first attended camp after losing my mom suddenly to a brain aneurysm. Over the past 25 years, I've had the privilege of volunteering at countless camps, and today I serve on CZC's Board of Directors.

Your Swim-a-Thon is a great example of kids helping kids. Thank you for the time, effort, and generosity you'll put into raising money to ensure Comfort Zone Camp remains free for every child and family who needs our support.

I hope you have fun at today's swim-a-thon and wish you all the best as you finish up your swim season.

With gratitude,

Matt Togna

Director-at-Large
