Hello!  If I have wrangled the technology correctly this should reach new families to the swim team this year. Welcome!  We're glad to have you. I know a lot of you are new to swim team completely, but don't worry. You're in for two months of chaotic fun but we'll get you through!

I am the team parent rep this summer so I will be your main contact. Wednesday is the first day of practice. I will be holding a new parent meeting during the beginner practice 3:30-4. Come if you can, but don't worry if you can't as you can ask me any questions over email. 

Anyone 6&under or those under 10 who have never been on any swim team before should start with the beginner practice. If the coaches feel anyone is a strong enough swimmer they will let you know to move to the appropriate age group. 

To be on the team, swimmers must be able to follow coach directions and stay on the wall when instructed. Additionally, they must be able to swim the length of the pool without stopping by Jun 1. The coaches will be working with them and they will have several opportunities to demonstrate the length prior to Jun 1. I encourage you to get them to as many practices as they need to show this skill. 

For those of you who only have one swimmer under 7, I was able to reduce your volunteer shifts to 4. This got a lot of you out of a second half shift as the 8&unders are finished after the first shift. You can visit the website to see your volunteer schedule
